Cheese Scones

It has been surprising how well baking can be done when you change a principal ingredient like buttermilk, out for 0% Fat Yogurt. These cheese scones are testament to that change.

You see, yogurt contains the same amount of acid needed to trigger such things as baking powder and bicarbonate of soda, and achieves the same thickness for binding, making it the perfect substitute.

Now that you know this, I wonder what recipes you would like moo try outside scones, so hit me up on the comments section and I will add it to the list of recipes to get through.

In the meantime, enjoy these cheese scones, they are a winner.

Or, try these chocolate ones as well at the same time so you have dessert as well!

Pre-heat your oven to 200C/400F.

1. Add the flour and butter into a mixing bowl, and rub them together until they resemble fine breadcrumbs.

2. Add in the remaining ingredients.

3. Mix to combine thoroughly. If you think the mix is a bit dry, then add more yogurt.

4. Cut into 6 scones.

5. Grate some additional parmesan over the top of the scones before baking.

Bake in the oven for 20mins, and allow to cool on a wire rack.
